1/2 pound of Swiss cheese shredded
1/2 pound of Gruyere cheese shredded
2 T cornstarch
1 garlic clove peeled & chopped
1 cup dry white wine
1 T lemon juice
1/2 t of dry mustard
Coat the cheese with cornstarch & set aside
Rub the pot with garlic clove & discard
Over medium heat add wine & lemon juice bring to a gentle simmer
Gradually stir cheese into simmering liquid (melting the cheese gradually makes a smooth fondue.)
Once it is smooth stir in mustard & nutmeg.
Serve with chunks of sour dough bread or French Baguette even vegetables.
