Soft Pretzels


Mix and Kneed

Let set Covered and oiled until it doubles in size

Prepare the Dipping Mixture

  • Heat  4 Cups of water
  • Add 1/2 cup baking soda

Final Step                                    Preheat Oven to 400

  • Divide the Dough into 12 pieces
  • Roll Each Piece into a Rope
  • Twist into a pretzel shape
  • Dip into the Hot Soda water for about the time it takes to make another pretzel
  • Place On Greased Pan or _Pan covered with Parchment
  • Sprinkle generously with Kosher or Large grain salt
  • Bake until Brown  About 8 minutes

carrot muffins

Preheat oven to 350 f.

Prepare muffin tins (grease or line)  Makes 1 dozen large muffins.


  • 1 cup soaked raisins     {Cover raisins in warm water and soak for about (at least) ten minutes. Drain.}
  • 3 cups grated carrots     {peel and then shred / grate the equivalent of 3 large carrots}
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon  baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • optional 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, allspice, cloves, or ginger *


Combine eggs, oil and sugar and mix well.

Stir in baking powder; soda; salt; and spices, and then the flour.

When blended, spoon into prepared muffin cups and bake for about 25 minutes.  .
